Father Brendan and Father Ben are the two main characters in the situational comedy show Father Ben, which Ted and Dougal are big fans of.
Father Brendan is extremely dim-witted as shown in an episode where he accidentally puts his boxer shorts on his head while Father Ben looks on in despair. They are actually parodies of Ted and Dougal themselves, although the latter seem unaware of this.
