Niamh Connolly is a popular singer known for her critical views on the Church and women's rights. She was portrayed by Scottish singer and actress Claire Grogan.

History

Niamh Connolly is a feminist singer who Ted and Dougal see being interviewed on television about her extreme views on the Catholic Church, which includes criticising their (unlikely) atrocities committed during the Great Famine.  She then performs a song accompanied by a sign language interpreter.

She arrives on the island in order to create a safe haven for victims of intolerance and hypocrisy. Later when Ted returns to the parochial house, he finds her there and she informs him that Dougal sold the house to her so they are trespassing. Ted realizes that since Dougal is so stupid he should not have done so.
